About Adam and his Method

Adam Lyon BMus AMusA (Voice) graduated from Victorian College of the Arts Opera Performance degree and was the recipient of the Daisy Webster Ethel Nolan Scholarship and McDonald Trust. While at the VCA, Adam studied under some of the world's best coaches, including Stephen Grant, Anna Connolly, Raymond Connell and the eminent Janice Chapman; during this time he also trained as a Feldenkrais practitioner, a method interwoven through all his teaching.

Adam has more than 15 years of studio experience and understands first-hand the rigors of high-end, high-demand professional vocal performance. His method incorporates aspects of Seth Riggs, Jo Estill and Svend Smith's accent method breathing, amongst many other forms of current best first-source pedagogy. A heavy focus is also placed on the function of text, dramaturgy and exact musicality as aides to professional viability, longevity, comfort and the enjoyment for each student. This is melded together by a core belief in quickly establishing a solid, individual technique and, more importantly, excellent practice process, for each and every student that imparts their trust in the studio.
